J. Raymond Bernat, JR., M.D.

Dr. Bernat is a Board-Certified Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon & Dermatologist. Dr. Bernat founded Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in July 2001. He graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine with his Doctor of Medicine in 1992 and performed his residencies at the University of Florida.

Dr. Bernat is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of MOHS Surgery. While in medical school, he performed in the 93rd - 97th percentile in the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1,2,3, was recognized with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society, and was awarded the NIH Summer Intramural Research Training Award Fellowship in 1994.

Patrick Lee Shannon, M.D.

Dr. Shannon is a Board-Certified Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon & Dermatologist. Dr. Shannon joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in January 2002. He graduated from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine with his Doctor of Medicine in 1995 and performed both his internship in Internal Medicine and his Dermatology residency at the University of Florida.

Dr. Shannon is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and is certified in MOHS Surgery. While in school, he graduated Cum Laude with Honors in Biology, was recognized with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society, and received the Excellence in Anatomy Award in 1991.

Mariel Bird, D.O., FAAD

Dr. Mariel Bird, D.O. joined Advanced Dermatology in early 2020 as the medical director of Advanced’s Howland location. Dr. Bird is a Board-Certified Dermatologist specializing in early detection and treatment of skin cancer, as well as treating medical conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. She is widely known as a hair loss expert and is fellowship trained in hair restoration. She is also passionate about and highly experienced in cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Bird earned her medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and served as Chief Intern at Nova Southeastern University. She completed her residency at Michigan State University, where she served as Chief Resident. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a Special Topics in Dermatology reviewer for the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.

Rachel L. Delost, DO

Dr. Rachel L. Delost is a board-certified dermatologist who has been serving patients in the Cleveland region since 2019. Dr. Delost offers medical and surgical dermatology treatments for patients of all ages from newborns to adults, for a wide range of skin conditions. She also provides medical aesthetic treatments including neurotoxin injections, such as Botox® and Dysport®, and dermal fillers.

Dr. Delost completed her medicine internship and dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals. She has peer reviewed over 20 dermatology articles and has taken on many leadership roles throughout her career in dermatology. She served as Cosmetic Clinic Co-Chief and the Osteopathic Chief at University Hospitals. Dr. Delost earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a double major in Biology and Spanish, with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Delost is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and Ohio Osteopathic Association.

Sarah Kudelko, PA-C

Sarah joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in 2006. She graduated from Duquesne University with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2004 and her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant in August 2005.

Sarah is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Physician Assistant Student Association. She is certified in CPR and ACLS. While in school, she was recognized by the National Gold Key Honor Society and participated in an International Study program in Rome, Italy, in 2002.

Annie R. Zajac, PA-C

Annie joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in 2008. She graduated from Duquesne University with her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant in August 2003.

Annie is certified in NCCPA and has her current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Ohio.

Teresa Shaffer, MSN, CNP

Teresa has been a part of the Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center team for over seven years. She began as a medical assistant in 2011, assisting Dr. Bernat in surgery, where she learned her love of surgery and of dermatology in general. She was inspired through this work to continue her education and she powered through school, earning her RN from Mercy College in 2012, her BSN in 2014 from Ohio University, followed by her Master's of Science in Nursing (along with her AGPC-NP-C) in 2017 through the University of Cincinnati! She enjoys her surgical time in the office, removing lesions and helping her patients feel comfortable throughout the process. She is especially talented in sculpting natural-looking lips and cheeks with fillers, and helping her patients age gracefully with Botox. She was nominated in 2017 as one of Realself.com's most loved injectors! She is a Certified CoolSculpt specialist as well.

Casey Dickey, MPAS, PA-C

Casey joined the Advanced Derm team in August of 2016. She earned her Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Mount Union in 2014, where she previously received her Bachelor's Degree in 2011. In 2015, her career began at Prima Health. Her dream was always to work in Dermatology, where she could pursue her interests in skin care and helping patients understand the importance of achieving optimal skin health.

Vanessa D'Angelo, Nurse Practitioner

Vanessa joined Advanced Dermatology in September of 2020. She graduated from Youngstown State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has practiced as a Registered Nurse in multiple specialties. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing along with a Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from United States University in 2020. Vanessa is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Mackenzie Pfeifer, RN, ACLS and BLS Certified

Mackenzie Pfeifer joined the Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in July of 2021. She completed her nursing degree from Kent State University and was a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit nurse for two years before deciding to change her career path to dermatology. Mackenzie was inspired by her personal experience with the confidence boosting benefits of skincare and cosmetic treatments. She believes in the concept ‘look good, feel good’ and wants every single one of her patients to leave happy and feeling great in their own skin. Mackenzie strives every day to help her patients reach their personal goals and achieve their dream skin.

Ann DeChellis, MSN, FNP-C

Ann joined Advanced Dermatology in 2021. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capital University and has nursing experience ranging from neonatal intensive care to geriatrics. She received her Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Cedarville University with honors. Ann is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Dermatology Nurses Association.

Tatum Martino, FNP-C, DCNP

Tatum Martino, FNP-C, DCNP, joined Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in October of 2021. Tatum has served patients as a dermatology Nurse Practitioner since 2018, most recently at University Hospitals. Prior to her experience as a Nurse Practitioner, she served patients as a Registered Nurse for 3 years at the Mercy Health Emergency Department. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Youngstown State University and graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Tatum is passionate about the field of dermatology and finds deep gratitude in helping people achieve healthy skin.

Olivia Bartels, PA-C

Olivia Bartels, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with over 10 years of clinical experience in dermatology and occupational medicine. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Mount Union and graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mount Union College. Olivia is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology PAs and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Olivia treats patients of all ages and offers a wide range of medical dermatology services. She goes above and beyond to ensure every patient has the best experience possible and looks forward to providing patients with individualized and thorough care.

Hannah Chapple, RN, BSN

Hannah Chapple, RN, BSN, joined Advanced Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center as a Cosmetic Nurse in 2022. She received her nursing degree at Kent State University in 2018 and was awarded the Nursing Excellence Award in 2019. At Advanced Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center in Warren, Hannah specializes in BroadBand Light (BBL™) treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, HydraFacial® treatments, and more. Hannah strives to build long-term relationships with her patients and develops custom treatment plans tailored to each individual’s skin care goals.

Gianna Angelilli, Licensed Esthetician

Gianna Angelilli, Licensed Esthetician, joined Advanced Dermatology & Skin Care Center in 2022. Gianna received her certification as an Advanced Esthetician at Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture Inc-Boardman in 2021, followed by her Esthetician license in 2022. At Advanced Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center in Boardman, Gianna specializes in dermaplaning, platinum facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, HydraFacial® treatments, and steam and extractions. Gianna is committed to delivering the highest quality of care to her patients and is passionate about collaborating with each patient to achieve their individual skin care goals.

Ashley McKee, BSN, RN joined Advanced Dermatology & Skin Care Center in 2022. Ashley received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Youngstown State University and knew she wanted to pursue her passion in dermatology. Alexa Lynch, BSN, RN

Alexa Lynch, BSN, RN joined Advanced Dermatology & Skin Care Center in 2023. Alexa received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Youngstown State University. Nicole Tatomirovich, PA-C

Nicole Tatomirovich, board-certified physician assistant, has been serving patients since 2021. She offers medical dermatology treatment for patients of all ages, for a wide range of skin conditions.

Nicole earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. She also spent time in a leadership role as Physician Assistant Student Preceptor with the Lake Erie College Physician Assistant Program.

Nicole is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Ohio Society of Physician Assistants.

In her spare time, you can find Nicole attempting a new recipe in the kitchen, working out, crocheting, or hanging out with her fiancè, Zak, and their two beloved dogs, Cooper and Theodore.
